ASASI has again joined with the Flight Safety Foundation to encourage and assist tertiary-level students involved in the field of aviation safety and aircraft occurrence investigation. The Flight Safety Foundation remains ‘Independent, International And Impartial’ in championing the cause of aviation safety. This stance is consistent with the ASASI objective of ‘Air Safety Through Investigation’. Our mutual safety collaboration has led to the provision of an annual scholarship. The successful applicant will receive sponsorship of up to AUD$2,000 to attend an ASASI or NZSASI seminar of their choice. More details about the task appear within the body of the application form.
This award will perpetuate the legacy of Mac Job and his pioneering work in air safety investigation and safety promotion in Australia.
Applicants must be enrolled as students in an Australian ASASI-recognised education program, including, but not limited to, studies in aircraft engineering, air operations, airline management, aviation psychology, aviation safety or aircraft occurrence investigation.
A student who has previously received the annual Flight Safety Foundation Scholarship will be ineligible to apply for it again.
NOTE: The Flight Safety Foundation – Macarthur Job Scholarship 2024 is in addition to the current ASASI – Flight Safety Australia Scholarship.
TOPIC: Review the development of “electric” propulsion for civil aircraft with particular emphasis on their limitations.
The Australian Society of Air Safety Investigators (ASASI) was formed to better serve and represent the views of Air Safety Investigators in Australia.
